Regional Town Halls

Our regional town halls are our flagship program that The Reunion Project was founded on and where it all started. These are two-day events by and for HIV long-term survivors. We work with a local host committee to develop the program tailored to each region, to hopefully help create an ongoing and sustainable network of long-term survivors in their own community. The first day is dedicated to people with HIV over age 50 who are considering going back to work, what to think about, how it may affect their benefits, and resources that are available to them in their region that they may not be aware of.

The second day is our “classic” town meeting, where we create a safer space for people to gather and share their stories of resilience and survival, without judgment. We hear from experts on topics related to HIV and aging and long-term survival, and we develop strategies for building healthier lives while living long-term with HIV.

We have visited over a dozen cities over the last 8 years, and we are committed to holding at least one event each year in the South or an underserved region.

The Reunion Project is committed to language justice, and offers interpretation services at all of our town halls.
